LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Some light rain could fall on parts of the Southland late tonight into tomorrow as cooler weather takes hold in the region and keeps conditions cloudy through the day.

According to the National Weather Service, coastal and valley areas are unlikely to see much clearing at all on Thursday, and even inland areas will probably have clouds through much of the day. That means temperatures that'll remain 5 to 10 degrees below normal.

The arrival of a “weak frontal system may bring rain to parts of the area late tonight (Thursday) into Friday morning,'' according to the NWS.

Forecasters said the system is not carrying a lot of moisture, but there could be some “light precipitation'' in the county, although most areas will “struggle to get measurable rain.''

“Dry and warmer weather is expected for the weekend, but a cold upper low will bring cooler temperatures and windy conditions early next week,'' according to the NWS.

Although temperatures will be slightly warmer over the weekend, they will still be a “degree or two below normal,'' according to the NWS.
