Pedestrian Killed in 10 Freeway Crash in Mid-City

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A pedestrian was struck by at least one vehicle and killed on the westbound Santa Monica (10) Freeway in the Mid-City area, and all lanes of the freeway were closed for more than six hours before reopening this morning.

The crash occurred about 10:15 p.m. Thursday near the Venice Boulevard exit, according to the California Highway Patrol, which issued a SigAlert about 10:50 p.m. closing all lanes at Venice Boulevard and taking traffic off the westbound lanes at Washington Boulevard.

The SigAlert was cancelled about 4:35 a.m., the CHP said.

Details of the crash were not immediately available.

The age, gender and name of the victim were not disclosed.
