LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A 53-day streak of falling gas prices in Los Angeles County ended today when the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the county increased one-tenth of a cent to $3.623.
The average price dropped 50.7 cents during the streak, including a half-cent on Saturday, to its lowest amount since Aug. 30, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It is 2.4 cents less than one week ago and 23.5 cents lower than one month ago, but 22.4 cents more than one year ago.
The Orange County average price also rose one-tenth of a cent to $3.546, one day after a streak of 53 consecutive decreases ended when the price was unchanged on Saturday. It dropped 54.3 cents during the streak to its lowest amount since Aug. 26.
The Orange County average price is 2.4 cents less than one week ago and 23.5 cents lower than one month ago, but 22.4 cents more than one year ago. The Orange County streak of decreases was the longest since a 75-day streak from Oct. 9-Dec. 22, 2012.
