Report: City Lobbyists Were Paid More Than $13M in First Quarter of 2019

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Lobbyists working at Los Angeles City Hall on behalf of various clients were paid more than $13.5 million in the first quarter of 2019, according to figures released today by the city's Ethics Commission.

For the first quarter, there were 1,437 clients registered to pay for lobbying services in the city, according to the commission. The top 10 clients paid more than $1.5 million, representing 11.3 percent of all payments by lobbying clients for the quarter, the commission reported.

Advertising company Clear Channel and several related entities paid lobbyists $204,948 in the first quarter.

The top 10 lobbying firms in the first quarter were paid more than $6.5 million, representing 48.4 percent of all payments received.

Englander Knabe and Allen was the highest-paid lobbying firm, receiving nearly $1.7 million, according to the commission report.
