LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the 48th time in 49 days, decreasing four-tenths of a cent to $3.724, its lowest amount since April 2.
The average price has dropped 39.6 cents over the past 49 days, including six-tenths of a cent on Monday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. The average price dropped 46 consecutive days, was unchanged Sunday and resumed dropping on Monday.
The average price is 5.5 cents less than one week ago and 26.6 cents lower than one month ago, but 4.8 cents more than one year ago.
The Orange County average price today recorded its first increase since May 7, rising three-tenths of a cent to $3.675. It had dropped 46 of the of the past 48 days and was unchanged twice, decreasing 42.4 cents, including eight-tenths of a cent on Monday.
The Orange County average price is 5.5 cents less than one week ago and 28.8 cents lower than one month ago, but 4.8 cents more than one year ago.
