Migrant Caravan Crosses Mexico Border After Gate Was Left Open

After a border gate on the U.S-Mexico border gates was left open, around 1,000 Central American migrants marched through the Guatemala-Mexico border with Mexican as authorities avoided any confrontation with the caravan, Fox News reports.

The border gates were only temporarily left open, but migrants were still able to cross the bridge from Tecun-Uman to Ciudad Hidalgo. They were shocked to find no locks, which initially gave them a free pass to enter Mexico without being stuck at the border or registering with immigration officials. The migrants now range from 1,000 to 2,500 miles to reaching the U.S border

President Trump reacted responsively to reports that the migrants have entered Mexico and warned Americans that the caravan is headed towards the United States.

"Another big Caravan heading out way. Very hard to stop without a Wall!" Trump tweeted Friday morning.

Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, Mexico's new president, advocates a more humane solution for the migrant caravan. He believes a program that offers jobs to the migrants would help stem the flow of migrants headed for the United States.

However, in order for this to happen the Mexican leader has asked President Trump to put in money to improve economic conditions in the region.

None of this would be needed from President Trump, if the wall was built alongside the U.S-Mexico border. Just saying...
