#TechTalk: Earthquake App & Auto Innovations At CES

Los Angeles County has rolled out what so many people have been wanting for years - an earthquake early alert system.

ShakeAlertLA is now available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, giving users the ability to receive a warning about earthquakes of 5.0 magnitude or larger seconds before striking.

Although a few seconds may not sound like a ton of time, Mayor Eric Garcetti said it will "save lives by giving precious seconds to you and to your family to take action and to protect yourselves."

The app is the first of its kind in the United States.
