Southland Gas Prices Keep Dropping

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the sixth time in seven days, decreasing 1 cent to $3.418.

The average price has dropped 3.9 cents over the previous seven days after rising 3.6 cents in three days, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 20.6 cents less than one month ago but 28.5 cents higher than one year ago. It has risen 26.8 cents since the start of the year.

The Orange County average price dropped three-tenths of a cent to $3.376, the seventh consecutive decrease after a run of five increases in six days totaling 4.7 cents.

The average price has dropped 4 cents over the past seven days, including four-tenths of a cent on Wednesday. It is 19.6 cents less than one month ago but 28.7 cents higher than one year ago. It has risen 26 cents since the start of the year.
