LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the 35th consecutive day, decreasing 1.1 cents to $3.624, its lowest amount since Aug. 25.
The average price has dropped 25.3 cents over the past 35 days, including six-tenths of a cent on Monday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 3.8 cents less than one week ago and 23.6 cents lower than one month ago, but 39.5 cents more than one year ago. It hasrisen 47.4 cents since the start of the year.
The streak of decreases is the longest since a 42-day streak from July 6-Aug. 16, 2016.
The Orange County average price dropped for the 33rd time in 34 days today, decreasing 1.1 cents to $3.572, its lowest amount since Aug. 29. It has dropped by 25.1 cents over the past 34 days, including a half-cent on Monday.
The Orange County average price is 3.7 cents less than one week ago and 23.3 cents lower than one month ago, but 39 cents more than one year ago. It has risen 45.6 cents since the start of the year.
The Orange County average price dropped for 27 consecutive days, rose one-tenth of a cent on Wednesday, then resumed declining on Thursday.
