Anyways, a man was caught at JFK trying to smuggle 20 finches into country using plastic tubes.
The Guyanese national had his birds confiscated, was fined $300, refused entry into the country, and scheduled to be sent back to Guyana.
If you're wondering why it is so important that we keep a few pet birds out of the country, it's pretty much because they can cripple our entire agricultural system with their viral and bacterial diseases.
Yea, kind of a big deal.
