US Gas Prices Rise For 35 Consecutive Days

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose today for the 20th consecutive day, increasing three-tenths of a cent to $3.25.

The average price has risen 15.9 cents over the past 20 days, including three-tenths of a cent on Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 8.6 cents more than one week ago, 8.9 cents higher than one month ago and 37.8 cents greater than one year ago.

The increases began one day after a 27-day streak of decreases totaling 15 cents.

The Orange County price also rose for the 20th straight day today, increasing two-tenths of a cent to $3.214. It has risen 17.9 cents during the streak, including one-tenth of a cent on Wednesday.

The Orange County average price is 8.1 cents more than one week ago, 10 cents higher than one month ago and 34.5 cents greater than one year ago.

The increases began one day after a 37-day streak of decreases totaling 22.7 cents ended when the average price was unchanged.
