L.A. Man Suspected Of Prank Call In Fatal Witchita OIS

A Los Angeles man is in jail for allegedly making a prank phone call that led police in Wichita, Kansas to shoot and kill an unarmed man.  KABC-TV reports that 25-year-old Tyler Barris of South L.A. was arrested Friday.  Barris is suspected of making a fake 911 call that sent Witchita police to the home of 28-year-old Andrew Finch.  Finch died in the hospital after police shot him because he made a movement toward his waistband.

In October 2015, police in Glendale arrested a 22 year-old man named Tyler Barris for making phony bomb threats against KABC.  The TV station reports that FBI and police investigating the current, fatal "swatting" incident are looking into whether the hoax stemmed from an argument over an online game.
