A New Hampshire man has stockpiled 4,826 incandescent bulbs due to them being banned because they don’t meet energy efficiency policies set by the Energy Department.
- Kevin Szmyd, 25, says his variety of incandescent bulbs should last him until he’s 100, if he lives that long.
- So, what’s Szmyd’s issue with the LED bulbs that have become the new standard instead of incandescent bulbs? He said, “I have a personal issue with the light we get from LEDs. I don’t think they look great.”
- In total, Szmyd has spent about $1,700 on his incandescent stockpile.
