Two People Killed By Polar Bear In Alaska

A woman and a boy were attacked and killed by a polar in the remote Alaskan town of Wales.

  • Authorities say the bear "entered the community and had chased multiple residents" on Tuesday afternoon. 
  • It was fatally shot by a local while attacking the victims, described as an adult female and juvenile male. Their identities have not been released.
  • Polar bear attacks on humans are rare, but have increased in the last 20 years.
