SANTA CLARITA (CNS) - Three men were taken into custody in Santa Clarita after leading authorities on a pursuit in an allegedly stolen vehicle today.
Authorities began pursuing the silver SUV on the Santa Ana (5) Freeway near the Antelope Valley (14) Freeway about 4:50 p.m. The driver exited the freeway and drove to the area of Valencia Boulevard and McBean Parkway, where the vehicle briefly slowed down and two suspects exited.
One of the suspects fled the scene on foot, while the other reentered the SUV, which sped away from the scene, briefly driving on the wrong side of the road. The man who fled the scene on foot was later taken into custody. The SUV driver fled to a parking lot located near Propello and Moveo drives, where authorities were able to box it in about 5 p.m. The driver and the other passenger exited the SUV and ran into a gated community, but were unable to elude authorities.
The pair fell to the ground and surrendered near an apartment complex swimming pool, prompting residents at the pool to scurry out of the area as officers took the suspects into custody.
