Fire Injures Man, Damages Converted Garage in West Hills

WEST HILLS (CNS) - A man was taken to a hospital today following a fire that damaged a converted garage in West Hills, authorities said.

Firefighters sent to the 7000 block of North Deveron Ridge Road at 12:38 p.m. extinguished the flames in the garage of the single-story home in 24 minutes, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported.

A man was taken to a hospital for examination of an ``unspecified illness or injury,'' the LAFD reported.

A pet dog was rescued by firefighters, and animal services personnel were notified.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
