Flight Delays and Cancellations? Shake Shack Wants to Give You Free Fries

According to travel experts, Thursday and Friday are anticipated to be the busiest days for those traveling this holiday season. Airplane passengers who are inevitably going to experience delays and cancellations can rest assured – help is on the way. Shake Shack wants to compensate those effected with some free French fries!

A free order of crinkle-cut fries will be made available between Wednesday, Dec.22 and Friday, Dec. 24, the fast-casual burger and hot dog chain announced. The free offer is primarily focused on those passengers that experience flight disruptions at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City. The airport just so happens to be the chain’s ‘home base’, and those seeking their free order of fries can redeem it at either of the two locations in Terminal 4. Of course, proof of your delayed or canceled flight will need to be shown at the checkout counter.

Anyone outside the city of New York looking to get their free order of fries will have to jump through a few hoops. First, passengers will have to take a selfie in front of their departure gate board to prove that their flight was either delayed or cancelled. Then, they’ll have to share that selfie on Instagram and take Shake Shack’s account, where they’ll receive a digital voucher via direct message.

With 21 locations at airports around the world, most passengers shouldn’t have issue finding a Shake Shack close to them. If you don’t know of one near you, visit the chain’s website at shakeshack.com/locations.
