Firefighters Put Out Fire Blaze at Housing Project

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - It took 29 firefighters about 20 minutes to put out flames at Father Joe's Villages, a former motel converted into a housing project in San Diego.

The fire was reported at 10:34 p.m. Sunday at 1010 Outer Road, according to the San Diego Fire Department.

The first fire unit arrived at 10:38 p.m. and the incident was closed at 11:57 p.m., according to an incident fact sheet.

No evacuations or injuries were reported but the Red Cross was summoned to the scene, fire officials said.

The cities of Chula Vista and National City assisted with the incident, officials said.
