Man Shot and Killed in Santa Ana; Investigation Underway

SANTA ANA (CNS) - A man was killed in a possible gang-related shooting in Santa Ana, authorities said today.

Officers were sent to the 900 block of South Shelton Street shortly before 11 p.m. Thursday on a report of shots fired, the Santa Ana Police Department reported.

“Officers arrived on scene and located an adult male with an apparent gunshot wound to his upper torso,'' police said in a statement. “The initial investigation revealed this is possibly a gang-related homicide.''

Paramedics took the wounded man to a hospital, where he died. His name was withheld, pending notification of his relatives.
