Man Arrested After Allegedly Firing at Long Beach Police; No Officers Hurt

LONG BEACH (CNS) - A man who allegedly fired at least one gunshot at Long Beach police officers today was arrested after a standoff with a SWAT team, authorities said.

The incident began at about 2 a.m., when officers went to the 1200 block of East Fourth Street on a report of a shooting in which no one was injured, the Long Beach Police Department reported.

When officers arrived, people at the scene pointed out the suspect, who allegedly fired at least one shot at the officers and fled, police said. The officers were not injured.

Police set up a containment of the area and called a SWAT team to the location, and a suspect was arrested after about two hours. His name was not immediately released.
