Armed Teen Who Fled Pasadena Police Was Reported Missing

PASADENA (CNS) - A 13-year-old boy who was arrested after running from officers while armed with a handgun had an outstanding no-bail warrant as a missing person.

``His mom was on his trail but kept on missing him,'' Pasadena police Lt. Anthony Burgess told City News Service. ``He was mixed up with the wrong crowd.''

The boy was a passenger in a car pulled over for a traffic violation about 10:10 p.m. Friday at Mountain Street and Sunset Avenue, Burgess told Pasadena Now.

The boy ran from the car and was caught by officers, who found a handgun in a pocket of his pants, he said.

The boy was booked in connection with the handgun and was taken to Eastlake Juvenile Hall in Los Angeles, he said.
