Visitations Allowed at Century Regional Detention Facility for Mother's Day

LYNWOOD (CNS) - The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department today announced the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood will be reopened for visitation over Mother's Day weekend and free COVID-19 vaccinations will be available to those visiting loved ones.

The Century Regional Detention Facility will be open for visitations May 8 and 9 due to Los Angeles County entering the least restrictive yellow COVID-19 tier, according to an LASD statement.

The LASD will also offer free vaccinations to visitors on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Kenneth Hahn Auditorium inside the Century Sheriff's Station's lobby.

All visits to the Century Regional Detention Facility must be scheduled in advance and visitors will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms.

Additionally, only one adult visitor and one child will be allowed to visit at a given time, and they must wear a mask and social distance at all times.

A full list of visitation guidelines can be found at https://lasd.org/covid19updates/#inmate_visit.

All other facilities are expected to reopen by the first week of June, according to the sheriff's department.
