POMONA (CNS) - A 22-year-old documented gang member on probation was jailed this morning after officers in Pomona found him in possession of a gun.
Members of the Pomona Police Department's Major Crimes Task Force spotted Gedber “Sparky'' Morales about 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the 1800 block of North Garey Avenue, near Willow Street, and, because his probationary status allowed for him to be searched during police contacts, officers conducted a pat-down search, according to Sgt. M. Medellin.
During the search, Morales admitted to carrying a gun, which officers found in his waistband, Medellin said.
Morales was taken into custody and booked at the Pomona city jail.
