Part Of Wright Brothers' 1st Airplane Is Hanging Out On Mars

A piece of the Wright brothers' first airplane is on Mars right now.

  • NASA just announced that its Martian helicopter holds a small swatch of fabric from the 1903 Wright Flyer.
  • The helicopter hitched a ride to the red planet with the Perseverance rover last month.
  • The postage-sized swatch that made the 300-million mile journey to Mars was from the plane's bottom-left wing.
  • NASA says the helicopter is going to attempt to visit another planet sometime in April.
