Scientists say a giant iceberg broke off the Brunt Ice Shelf in Antarctica last week.
- The chunk is 490 square miles -- bigger than New York City.
- Scientists say they had been expecting the iceberg to break away because of large cracks forming over the past several years.
- Now, they just wait and see where it might end up.
