Man Accused of Murder and Feeding Victim’s Heart to his Relatives

An Oklahoma man with a long history of criminal behavior is suspected of killing two family members and a neighbor.

Forty-two year-old Lawrence Anderson is accused of stabbing a neighbor to death, cutting her heart out and taking it across the street to his Chickasha home where he cooked it with potatoes intending to feed it to his family. He said forcing them to eat it was an attempt to “release the demons.”

Anderson was living with his aunt and uncle, Delsie and Leon, and their 4-year-old granddaughter Kaeos Yates. Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation alleges he then killed the uncle and granddaughter. His aunt was also stabbed but survived the attack.

Anderson, who was just released from prison in January on drug and other related crimes, confessed to the killing of his neighbor; 41-year-old Andrea Lynn Blankenship. Her body was discovered two days later.

He faces three counts of murder, one count of assault and battery with a deadly weapon, and one count of maiming.
