Dodger Stadium Vaccination Site to Temporarily Close Due to Lack of Doses

Mayor Eric Garcetti says the city will have to close several Covid-19 vaccine sites, including the largest site at Dodger Stadium, due to the lack of doses available. The closure will last for at least two days, beginning Friday. Garcetti says the city has exhausted its supply of first doses of the Moderna vaccine, but all those who received a first dose of the Moderna vaccine will receive a second dose.

The mayor says the vaccine supply is unpredictable. Just this week the city received a mere 16,000 doses, as compared to last week’s 90,000. Garcetti says he hopes to reopen the drive-through centers next Tuesday or Wednesday.

Garcetti:

“It is only fair that Los Angeles receives a steady supply to meet this moment.”
