Average Southland Gas Prices Rise

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose three-tenths of a cent today for the second consecutive day to reach almost $3.16.

The average price is two-tenths of a cent more than one week ago and 1 cent higher than a month ago but 50.8 cents less than a year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped 45.8 cents since the start of this year.

The Orange County average price rose a half-cent to $3.138, a day after increasing a tenth of a cent. That is nine-tenths of a cent more than one week ago and 2.4 cents higher than a month ago, but 44.4 cents less than this time last year.

The Orange County average price has dropped 40.7 cents since the start of the year.
