POMONA (CNS) - A 44-year-old gang member was jailed this morning on drug and gun violations in Pomona following a traffic stop.

Officers with the Pomona Police Department's Major Crimes Task Force stopped the driver of a compact vehicle for a suspected seatbelt violation in the area of Philadelphia and Reservoir streets about 6:25 p.m. Monday, according to Sgt. M. Medellin.

The driver, identified as Randy "Pee Wee'' Rodriguez, a known gang member from a neighboring city, was found to be holding a methamphetamine pipe and later admitted to officers he had a gun in the vehicle, Medellin said.
