LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped two-tenths of a cent today to $3.206, the 11th time in 13 days it has changed by two-tenths of a cent or less.
The average price is 1.3 cents below one week ago, four-tenths of a cent lower than one month ago and 63 cents below what it was one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price has decreased 40.9 cents since the start of the year.
The Orange County average price dropped a half-cent to $3.171 after dropping by six-tenths of a cent for two consecutive days. It is 1.8 cents below one week ago, 2 cents lower than one month ago and 63.3 cents below what it was one year ago.
The Orange County average price has decreased 37.4 cents since the start of the year.
“California gasoline stockpiles are reportedly at their highest levels in four months, according to the California Energy Commission and Oil Price Information Service,'' said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager. “However, gasoline stations are seeing reduced business and seem more reluctant to cut pump prices quickly.''
