LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County recorded its largest daily increase since Nov. 1 today, rising 1.5 cents to $3.158, its highest amount since March 27.
The average price has risen three consecutive days, increasing 2.9 cents, including eight-tenths of a cent on Thursday, after back-to-back decreases totaling six-tenths of a cent, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 2.7 cents more than a week ago and 9 cents higher than one month ago but 55.4 cents less than one year ago. It has decreased 45.7 cents since the start of the year.
The Orange County average price rose 1.3 cents to $3.143, its highest amount since March 26, one day after also increasing 1.3 cents. It is 2.6 cents more than one week ago and 9.1 cents higher than one month ago but 53.9 cents less than one year ago. It has decreased 40.2 cents since the start of the year.
