Well, that's one way to send a clear message to your mayor.

Over the weekend the mayor of Minneapolis, Jacob Frey, joined a peaceful protest in his town. However, he ended up being pushed out by protestors after he refused to commit to defunding the Minneapolis police department.

Demonstrators marched directly to Frey's home and asked him directly if he would defund the police.

“I’m not for abolishing the entire police department, I will be honest about that,” Frey told the protesters.

Well his response led to him to be heckled by chants of “Go home, Jacob, go home."

On the opposite end of politicians in Minneapolis, several members of the city council have agreeded they would do everything they can to dismantle the police department in wake of George Floyd's death.

“We are going to dismantle the Minneapolis Police Department and replace it with a transformative new model of public safety,” Council President Lisa Bender wrote on Twitter.

House of Representatives Rep. Ilhan Omar, (D-Minnesota), was in attendance at this rally and was happy to hear that most city council members were in favor of dismantling the police department being “inherently beyond reform.
