NYTimes Cover Gives Tribute to COVID-19 Victims

The cover of Sunday's New York Times was made as a tribute to those who have died during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The paper filled its front page with the names of more than 1,000 victims of the pandemic.

Some included brief obituaries such as "Beloved public school teacher", "Advocate for disability rights" and "emergency room doctor who died in husband's arms."

The headline reads "U.S. Deaths Near 100,000, And Incalculable Loss".

NYTimes National Editor Marc Lacey said he wanted a cover "that people would look back on in 100 years to understand the toll of what we're living through".
