Average L.A. County Gas Price Drops For 43rd Consecutive Day

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped today for the 43rd consecutive day, decreasing a half-cent to $3.665, its lowest amount since Sept. 3.

The average price has dropped 46.4 cents during the streak, including a half-cent Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 5.1 cents less than one week ago and 32.7 cents lower than one month ago but 24 cents more than one year ago and has risen 27.4 cents since the start of the year.

The streak of decreases is the longest since a 46-day run from May 8- June 22.

The Orange County average price dropped for the 44th consecutive day, decreasing seven-tenths of a cent to $3.582, its lowest amount since Aug. 30. It has dropped 50.6 cents during the streak, including four-tenths of a cent Tuesday.

The Orange County average price is 4.8 cents less than one week ago and 35.6 cents lower than one month ago but 20.2 cents more than one year ago. It has risen 23.3 cents since the start of the year.
