Krispy Kreme Shuts Down College Student's Donut Reselling

Krispy Kreme has shut down the side hustle of a Minnesota college student who was smuggling them across state lines.

Minnesota doesn't have any Krispy Kreme locations, so every weekend, 21-year-old Jayson Gonzalez would drive 270 miles to a store in Iowa and load up his car.

He brought the delicious contraband across the state border and resold the donuts to Twin Cities residents for about $20 a box and sometimes for as much as $100.

When the doughnut giant found out about it after Gonzalez' operation was featured in a local newspaper, the company reached out and told him he had to shut down his business due to liability issues.
