Gwyneth Paltrow's Company "Goop" To Pay $145,000 In Civil Penalties

Gwyneth Paltrow’s strange, lavish lifestyle company created "vaginal eggs" to help women with their menstrual cycles, hormone levels, and overall bladder control. The company, called Goop, also claimed these eggs could help prevent depression in women.

Well, now they're facing a lawsuit from 10 California counties claiming their advertisements were not supported by reliable evidence.

Today, the company officially agreed to pay civil penalties of $145,000, as well as offer refunds to their customers.

“It's important to hold companies accountable for unsubstantiated claims, especially when the claims have the potential to affect women’s health,” Orange County Dist. Atty. Tony Rackauckas said.

And in a statement from company, they claimed "this settlement does not indicate any liability on Goop's part."

“While the company has not received any complaints regarding these product claims, it is happy to fully refund any Goop customer who has purchased any of the challenged products.”
