LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose today to its highest amount since Aug. 30, 2015, increasing four-tenths of a cent to $3.566.
The average price has risen 25 consecutive days, increasing 14.4 cents, including six-tenths of a cent on both Wednesday and Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 3.9 cents more than one week ago, 14 cents higher than one month ago and 55.6 cents greater than one year ago. It has risen 41.6 cents since the start of the year.
The Orange County average price rose today to its highest amount since Aug. 28, 2015, increasing four-tenths of a cent to $3.525. It has risen 23 of the past 25 days, increasing 14.3 cents, including six-tenths of a cent on both Wednesday and Thursday.
The Orange County average price is 3.4 cents more than one week ago, 13.5 cents higher than one month ago and 53.1 cents greater than one year ago. It has risen 40.9 cents since the start of the year.
The rising prices are the result of declining West Coast gasoline inventories and production, according to Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California's corporate communications manager.
``However, those refineries are expected to be up and running at full capacity soon, which should increase supply,'' Spring said.
