The Mexican illegal alien on trial for the 2015 murder of Kate Steinle was found not guilty yesterday. The jury found Jose Ines Garcia Zarate not guilty of first-degree murder and manslaughter, but he was found guilty of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Steinle was shot in the back as she and her father walked along Pier 14 in San Francisco on July 1, 2015. Garcia Zarate had been deported five times and was wanted for a sixth deportation when Steinle was killed.
