Day 4 of the Kate Steinle murder trial

San Francisco Chronicle reporter Vivian Ho joined us this afternoon with the latest on the Kate Steinle murder trial. In the fourth day of trial, Bureau of Land Management ranger John Woychowski Jr. testified that his gun doesn't have a "hair trigger."

The ranger said his gun had been stored securely in his SUV while he and his family had dinner.

Woychowski testified:

“It was well-lit, metered parking with other pedestrians in the area."

His vehicle was broken into and his gun was stolen just days before it was used to kill Kate Steinle while she was walking on the pier with her family and friends.
