San Diego County is joining the rush to attract Amazon's second headquarters.  The Board of Supervisors voted today to send a letter to Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos expressing strong interest.  Supervisor Greg Cox said the facility could be built in unincorporated areas of the county, but didn't offer specifics on what incentives might be explored.

Amazon plans to spend more than $5 billion dollars on what it calls HQ2, which would reportedly provide 50,000 new high-paying jobs.  Amazon already has a large presence in San Diego after leasing more than 100,000 square feet of office space in University City.  The company is expected to announce a location for HQ2 next year.
