Former President Obama Getting Street Named After Him

The Los Angeles City Council unanimously approved a proposal that would rename a section of Rodeo Road between Jefferson Boulevard and Arlington Avenue as "Obama Boulevard."

Council President Herb Wesson submitted the motion to rename the street after the 44th President. The area is home to "president's row" which is a series of street named after former presidents. These include streets like Washington Boulevard, Adams Boulevard and Jefferson Boulevard.

Wesson was one of the first politicians in Los Angeles to support Obama's first campaign in 2008 as he introduced the future president at his first campaign rally nine years ago at Rancho Cienega Park on Rodeo Road.
