#TechTalk with Marc Saltzman: Amazon Echo Video Calls, Gogo Wi-Fi and Sims Mobile!

Amazon has released the new Echo Show and its features are out of this world. The Show has features like a touch screen and can also play music and check the weather in an instant.

But now, the new Echo Show can also be used for video calling. For people always on the go and wanting to connect to family members without struggling with Skype, the Amazon product now makes that task very easy.

There is a unique feature on the Echo called Drop It and this allows devices to be connected immediately with the snap of a finger.

Instead of wasting time trying to connect to Wi-Fi, the Echo Show is always connected to the internet and people can call anyone worldwide using their smartphone.

As long as both the Echo and the device you are calling from have the Alexa app installed, then communication is made very easy.

The Echo Show is currently priced at $229.99 each while other intercom systems can cost up to thousands of dollars.

For a device that acts as a videophone, provides numerous features and lets people have a taste of the future, the Echo Show is a good way to go.

Gogo Wi-Fi

Gogo, Wi-Fi technology and one of the ‘largest providers of broadband’ for airplanes, has just improved the ‘satellite Internet system’ called as 2Ku, making the Wi-Fi faster for users.

“It is significantly faster and (provides) significantly more capacity than has ever been brought to aviation before,” said John Wade, the Gogo executive vice president and chief operating officer.

About 13 airliners are set on getting 2Ku before the end of 2018, according to the company. Their mission is called “15,98,98” which means each passenger on the flight will be provided 15 megabits in speed every second, 98% availability and 98% of coverage of ‘global flight hours.’

Currently, passengers can pay to use Gogo and the prices can be from $10 to $20.

Sims is coming to iOS and Android

For Sims fans that are always on the move, the popular game is now coming to both iOS and Android phones.

Sims Mobile will have all the familiar features and concepts for users.

EA, a game publishing company, said, “When your Sims accomplish their career goals and retire, you’ll be awarded with Heirlooms that unlock hobbies and careers for future generations, allowing new Sims to tell deeper stories.”

Although two other Sims games have been previously released on mobile devices, the new Sims mobile game is closet to the original game.
