LA Declares May 2nd, "Fresh off the Boat" Day

La La Land isn't the only production in Los Angeles being honored by the city. The ABC comedy, "Fresh off the Boat" starring Randall Park and Constance Yu is also being honored with a day of its own by Mayor Eric Garcetti and Council President Herb Wesson.

Cast members including Randall Park, Hudson Yang, Forrest Wheeler, Ian Chen Lucille Soong and Chelsey Crisp were in attendance along executive producers Nahnatchka Khan and Melvin Mar.

The popular Tuesday night comedy is based on a memoir by Eddie Huang, a restaurateur and attorney who wrote about his experiences growing up as the son of immigrants.

The sitcom which follows the adventures of a Taiwanese family living in Orlando, Florida, is currently in its third season and has received high praise from both critics and audiences alike.

And while "Fresh off the Boat" certainly deserves all the accolades it receives, it might have been nice to see a themed demonstration similar to the La La Land dancers skipping and swaying their way across the facade of City Hall.

Maybe a food truck with some of Huang's Taiwanese-braised pork belly buns? Just spitballing for next year...

Fresh off the Boat airs every Tuesday at 9pm on ABC.
