Fundraiser for Anaheim White House

On February 4th, the Anaheim White House, the site of our yearly PastaThon to benefit Caterina's Club, fell victim to a fire that extensively damaged the restaurant.

Chef Bruno Serato does have insurance for the restaurant.  It is estimated that it will cost $1 - $1.5 million to rebuild and while insurance will cover most of that cost, it will not cover all of it, so we are working to help promote any fundraisers that are being held to assist Bruno in rebuilding and taking care of his staff until the restaurant re-opens.

Thursday, April 20th, 6pm-9pm, Garth Blumenthal of Fletcher Jones Motorcars, is having a "That's What Friends Are For" event to help Bruno rebuild the White House so he can continue his work to end child hunger.

Tickets for the event are $100 per person.  Hors d'oeuvres from White House Catering will be provided, there will be a live performance by Maria Elena Infantino and a live auction will be available.

Proceeds will help Chef Bruno's employees, whose jobs were displaced by the fire and Bruno's non-profit, Caterina's Club.

KFI is sill planning our yearly PastaThon for Caterina's Club for December. Details to come!

A GoFundMe account has also been started to cover any gap in what the insurance policy does not cover. Any donations collected above what's needed to rebuild or help any employees while the restaurant is closed will go to directly to Caterina's Club.

Here are some more photos of the aftermath.

Bill spoke to Chef Bruno a few days after the fire.

And a few weeks ago, we got an update from Chef Bruno.

Chef Bruno has continued feeding the children without interruption thanks to Highway 39 Event Center in Anaheim and the Christ Cathedral campus in Garden Grove.

As a matter of fact, just a little over a week ago, Caterina's Club added several more locations in San Juan Capistrano, Rancho Santa Margarita and Aliso Viejo, bringing the total of children served five nights a week to 2,250 kids, at 33 locations in Orange and LA County.

The outpouring of love for Bruno has been amazing.  Bruno asked us to tell you all THANK YOU for your concern and offers to help.

HOW YOU CAN HELP!!!   Bruno has always put everyone else before himself, now it's time for him to accept the kindness of others to help him rebuild.  If you have an offer to help, please email the Anaheim White House directly at info@anaheimwhitehouse.com

Bruno's Anaheim White House catering department was located off site, and can still do events.  So another way to help is if you're looking for a caterer for an event, you can book them for your event.

THANK YOU for your continued support of KFI, Bruno, the Anaheim White House and Caterina's Club.

The video below is just a reminder of what Bruno does for others.
